Letter to politicians

Template letter to your local Politician

Challenge Poverty Week 2020 has now passed, but we can all still play our part to help end poverty in Scotland. One of the best ways to do this is to urge you local elected representatives to take action!

Remember: the Scottish Parliament elections are coming up in 2021; use your voice to help influence the party manifestos that will shape the policies of the next parliament!

Download the template letters below (which have been edited to be useful even after CPW), edit and personalise them, and then post or email them to your local MSPs and MP. The more that elected representatives hear about your belief in the need to solve poverty the better! You can find your local MSPs here and your local MP here.

Councillors also make important decisions regarding poverty. Find out who your local Councillor is here and speak to them about what they are doing to tackle poverty in your area.

It would be great if you let us know when or if you get a response from your MSP, MP, or local Councillor, by emailing neil.cowan@povertyalliance.org
