Add your event to the calendar
Once you have your event planned, you can let the world know all about it by adding it to our events calendar. You can do that by filling in a form, or by sending your details to suzi.murning@povertyalliance.org
Use the news media
In the run-up to #ChallengePoverty week, we'll be running workshops on how to write news releases, make contact with your local news media, how to do an interview, and how we can best talk about poverty to bring about change.
We've also created a template Model news releases and media guidelines for you to take and adapt for your own organisation and your own events.
Use social media
Suggested social media content
We've created suggested content for Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for use during #ChallengePoverty Week.
Photo and Video Guide
Creating videos and posting photos for social media is a great way to get involved in the week. We’ve created a guide to help you do this.
Talking about poverty to win hearts and minds
We’d encourage you to produce your own content for the week, using the framing recommendations and the #ChallengePoverty and #TurnTheTide. Here are the slides that accompany our framing training ‘Talking about poverty to win hearts and minds’:
‘Talking Poverty: Using frames to change people’s views’.
Please email Suzi at suzi.murning@povertyalliance.org for the full handouts.
