Power Not Precarity: Creating a Young Workers’ Charter

Date: October 12, 2019
Time: 10:00 am

Scottish Trades Union Congress

Low incomes, ever rising costs and increasingly precarious work is hitting young people the hardest.

The Scottish Trades Union Congress’s Young Worker’s Committee are bringing young trade unionists, activists and leading experts together to establish a Young Workers’ Charter in conjunction with Challenge Poverty Week 2019.

If you are a young person (between the ages of 16 and 27), come along to the STUC to hear from the likes of the Poverty Alliance, Get Glasgow Moving and Better Than Zero and give your views on what Governments and employers need to do to solve poor housing, poor wages, poor working conditions and poor transport in Scotland.

The event will be comprised of keynote talks and facilitated group sessions to give attendees the opportunity to have their say about the issues that matter to them the most. The views of attendees will then be collated and created into a Young Workers Charter.

This event is free to attend, travel expenses can be reimbursed and a lunch will be provided. A full agenda for the day will be published soon.

The event will take place at Scottish Trades Union Congress, 333 Woodlands Road, Glasgow.
