Family fun session with information stalls

Date: October 10, 2019
Time: 2:00 pm

Branchton Community Centre, Greenock

Branchton Community Centre and Inverclyde Council Attainment Challenge Family Holiday Clubs will be running a family fun session with activities for children to enjoy. They will also cater for all who attend whilst offering space to any local service who can offer support or assistance to those who are experiencing poverty.

They will also have community groups who will display their projects which have been set up to help community members such as our free clothing rail.

In the run up to the event they will be gathering data from the community and encouraging people to be part of a presentation they would like to deliver to local elected members,  relevant officers and any other professionals they can have attend, to showcase the real life effects of living in poverty.

The aim of this will be to overcome the stereotype and the shame often felt by people and to take steps to change how we perceive poverty, they feel within the community people should not be ashamed and want to help overcome this in order to effectively tackle poverty.

The event will take place at Branchton Community Centre, 78 Branchton Rd, Greenock.
