Ayrshire College Social Science students will be holding a series of events across our 3 campuses for Challenge Poverty Week, as part of their #societymatters campaign.
Activities include anti-poverty protest posters which will be displayed across all college campuses to highlight the extent of poverty and raise awareness of the different types of poverty people experience and groups impacted by these.
Students in Kilmarnock campus will be creating foodbank awareness leaflets, to highlight the increase in the use of these, the rise of those in employment using them, and the information of how to access the local foodbanks.
Kilwinning campus students are creating a survey to find out if students and the local community are aware of different types of poverty and the extent to which these exist in UK society.
The Ayr campus students will be holding a conversation cafe facilitated by students exploring the impact of different types of poverty.
