Overwhelmed – a story of debt, poverty & mental health

October 8 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Free

Evidence shows that poverty is having an adverse impact on mental health. People in problem debt are three times as likely to have thought about suicide in the past year.

During this webinar we’re going to have a look at the devastating impact of problem debt and poverty on mental health and what we can do about it. You’ll be the first to see our brand new film, featuring one of our CAP storytellers who will share with us how being trapped in problem debt affected her mental health.

We’ll also be joined by a panel including:
Emma Jackson, National Director for Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Scotland.
Penny Morriss, Network Lead for Scotland, Trussell Trust
Sarah-Jayne Dunn, Policy Manager, Citizens Advice Scotland
Satwat Rehman, Director of One Parent Families Scotland

Each panel member will share from their knowledge and experience of working with people experiencing the devastating impact of poverty and problem debt on mental health. We will finish with a Q&A session, where you’ll be invited to ask your questions to the panel.
