October 17 United Nations Day for the Eradication of Poverty

October 17, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

October 17, United Nations International Day for the Eradication of Poverty in Glasgow.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be no physical event in George Square this year. The Day will be marked though an online gathering where there will be a sharing of memories, writing, photographs and art work throughout the day through a Facebook Page with the Poverty Truth Community, Bridging the Gap, The Lodging House Mission and All Together in Dignity/ATD Fourth World. A candle will also be lit at the Poverty and Human Rights Commemorative stone in George Square, Glasgow at 12pm on October 17 as a way to stand together and remember people around us and the world who have lost their lives through poverty and exclusion and the many who currently face the daily pressure of living with poverty. You are invited to light a candle at 12pm on October 17. Please contact Elaine Downie with Poverty Truth Community if you would like more information. info@povertytruthcommunity.scot
